Garden Details:
Size of garden: 6 raised beds
When the garden was started: 2010
What things are grown in the garden:
We planted a rainbow garden that was started inside of our center using a light grow box that we purchased through the grant. When the seeds developed into plants we then transferred them into containers. We grew yellow, green and purple beans, broccoli, green and red peppers, carrots, cherry tomatoes, onions, zucchini, squash, and eggplant.
Children's favorite things to grow/ favorite garden activities:
The vegies the children became most interested in was the eggplant and the tomatoes beans and peppers. I think they liked the fact that they were able to watch them develop as the season progressed. The carrots and onions were more of a surprise at the end of the season. They really liked the eggplant when we were tasting the rainbow that we made.
